Techstep has been awarded a frame agreement with the Municipality of Oslo (Oslo Kommune), one of Norway’s largest employers, to deliver SmartDevice to some 30,000 of the municipality’s employees. The contract includes opportunities for adding software and advisory services, with a potential of doubling the current contract value.
Techstep has been the main provider of mobile phones and accessories to Oslo Kommune for the past four years. In this new tender, Oslo Kommune emphasised facilitation of complete mobile technology solutions, with focus on cost efficiency and sustainability, which represents further opportunities for Techstep compared to the previous frame agreement.
“Oslo Kommune has high ambitions of reducing their climate footprint through more sustainable procurement practices and reduced consumption. For Techstep, this is an important win as it confirms the relevance of our products, where sustainability and circularity are central”, says CEO Børge Astrup in Techstep. “We are honoured that Oslo Kommune again has chosen Techstep as their preferred supplier of mobile technology solutions".
Total contract value has a potential of up to NOK 480 million over a four-year period, of which NOK 240 million relates to mobile phones and accessories in the SmartDevice portfolio. The contract period is two years, with options for an additional two years’ extension with annual renewal.
Techstep has been awarded the contract after a tender offering, and the agreement is expected to be signed shortly after the closing date for submission of complaints, due 21 June, 2023.
