Digitalisation is not just the cool transformative stuff
Digitalisation is critical for the public sector to serve a growing elderly population and to engage with the upcoming digital-born generation - no questions about that. There is no shortage of cool ideas, ambition, nor technology; it's available. Many digital initiatives are ready to go but are being delayed due to scalability challenges. We are experts in laying the mobile tech foundation, creating a manageable and secure ecosystem for your digital initiatives running on mobile devices. You focus on the cool transformative stuff, and we ensure that you have the right mobile tech setup to accommodate digital and mobile ways of working.

Endless possibilities create scalability challenges
In an era of rapid technological advancements and digitalisation, mobile technology has become a cornerstone for modernising and enhancing the efficiency of public sector services across various domains. From healthcare and education to transportation and administration, the benefits of embracing digital transformation open new ways of working in many areas of the complex public sector.
While we in the Nordic countries are renowned for our high standard of living, robust welfare systems, and advanced technological infrastructure, we too face challenges in adopting mobile technology and digitalisation within our large and diverse public sector. Political ambition supporting new digital ways of working is clearly expressed, and digital initiatives are emerging everywhere in the public sector.

However, there is a broad set of challenges spanning from user acceptance, privacy and security concerns to basic logistics and sustainability challenges in supplying mobile technology devices to thousands of workers. The public sector needs to address these challenges and implement a robust and secure infrastructure, ensuring efficient ways for digital tools to reach the end-users and enabling new ways of working at scale.
New digital tech can assist in many aspects of the complex world of public administration. However, the lack of a solid foundation for the initiative to run on creates scalability challenges. Public administration must assign focus to the “less” cool stuff needed to support digitalisation efforts, such as processes for technology lifecycle management, management of mobile operating systems, and security. As critical workloads go digital, all surrounding supporting technologies must work in harmony to mitigate risks of downtime and production hiccups.
“Digitalising public services with mobile technology enhances efficiency and citizen engagement, fostering a future where governments are more secure, responsive, transparent, and adaptive to public needs.“

Benefits of digital and mobile ways of working
Digitalisation empowers public sector organisations to provide services with greater speed and precision. It fosters digital interactions between citizens and government entities, reducing bureaucratic delays and improving overall service delivery.
Mobile technology enables governments to reach a wider audience, fostering inclusivity. This aligns with the principles of equal access to public resources and services.
Automation of routine tasks, paperless workflows, and efficient data management reduce operational expenses, allowing governments to allocate resources more strategically.
Mobile technology facilitates real-time communication and collaboration among government agencies. Efficient sharing of information breaks down silos and speeds up public service delivery.
Reducing reliance on paper-based processes and optimizing resource usage, digitalization promote a more sustainable approach to public administration.
Digitalisation is one of the pillars for public sector to cope with existing and future productivity challenges. Digitalisation makes for scaleable public services.
Embracing digital and mobile technologies positions the public sector for continuous innovation addressing the growing workload, and higher end-user expectations with limited resources.
Paving the way for the digital-born generation entering work life with completely different expectations of technology and digital ways of working.

Public sector can buy mobile devices differently
We are very happy to be one of the suppliers in Kammarkollegiet's new framework agreement for purchasing mobile phones in Sweden and DFØ's equivalent agreement in Norway. Both agreements give public sector customers the opportunity to procure mobile devices and services related to the management of mobile devices.
We think before we act together
Together, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of your current processes, systems, and organisational needs in a workshop. We aim to develop a clear understanding of your mobile digitalisation goals and ambitions, to benefit both of us.
Considering the goals and needs identified in the workshop, we put together a mobile tech roadmap based on your mobile tech maturity and how it aligns with your desired ways of working. We outline the steps, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for success.
Together, we systematically execute the mobile tech roadmap, ensuring a phased and manageable implementation. We provide thorough training for employees on your new tools and processes. We anticipate and address challenges promptly to minimise disruptions during the roll-out phase.
We implement robust mobile management mechanisms to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Based on insights and statistics, we continuously improve your solution to ensure the agreed KPIs are met.

You keep dreaming about the future
Last but not least, for successful digitalisation, take a moment to dream about the future. This is a key step to thinking outside the box, inspiring creativity, and setting ambitious goals. It aligns our efforts today towards a shared vision. In the world of digitalisation, dreaming isn't just a nice addition; it's what propels us toward a future where technology doesn't just meet expectations but goes above and beyond.
Customer Case: Mesta
Mesta has been on a yearlong digitalisation journey, aiming to proactively foster a more sustainable operation throughout their entire organisation. Mesta's decision to partner with Techstep as their provider of smarter mobile technology is grounded in a longstanding, successful, and mutually beneficial relationship.
The chosen hardware for this solution was tablets from Samsung, which ensured reliability and efficiency. The tablets were prepared at the distributor and resulted in a truly zero-touch experience for the end user. To support the Samsung tablets, we implemented our Essentials MDM and Managed Kiosk solutions, which is Techstep’s own software for mobile device management.
Customer Case: Wåab
Waxholmsbolaget came to us with the need to be able to sell tickets in a quicker and more efficient way than they currently did.
Together we designed a robust, scalable solution ready to handle the future. The solution features a new sales flow specific for Waxholmsbolaget, including paper ticket sales, sales to the SL-card, new receipts. Along with this we also implemented a messaging service that integrated with their backend system. This enabled them to push out urgent notifications and business related information to Waxholmsbolaget users. We topped it of with a rugged tablet from the Samsung Galaxy Enterprise Edition series and designed a whole new look and feel for the app unique to Waxholmsbolaget users.
